Nilagang Baka

Nilagang baka is always time-consuming. How i wish we have a slow cooker to lessen the cooking time and save up on shellane.

1. Boil the beef in water with ginger and onion. I boil it for almost 2hrs until soft and chewy.
2. Add pepper and salt to taste.
3. Then add potatoes until soft
4. Add pechay.

I was surprised with the pechay's price. It costs P25 for 3 stalks of pechay. I know vegetables increased prices due to rains last week. But P25 is just too much. But for the sake of my Nilagang baka, i still bought one.

as always, John said its good. hehe.

chicken afritada

After 3days of rain and flood, it feels like its been so long since I ate "real" food. We've been eating hotdog, spam, corned beef, century tuna, sausage .. all the easy to cook foods.

And so i cooked something real.. hehe.. here goes the Afritada...

procedure:
- boil the chicken
- saute garlic, onion, ginger
- add the half-boiled chicken
- then add the afritada sauce and the chicken broth
- let it boil, until it becomes creamy or saucy.. (not soup-like)
- then add carrots and bell pepper

It taste so salty :( i just hope John would still like it.
