Keane's Christening

We went to Sta. Maria Bulacan last Feb 26 for my nephew's baptism and my brother's birthday as well.

Reception was held at Green Pond Restaurant also in Bulacan and it offers Chinese delicacy. Well not bad for a restaurant at the province.

Steamed king fish @ home

I went to Aranque market around 12 noon. Only to find out that the vendors are only half day. There's only one store left open, selling King Fish and Lapu-lapu. I bought 3 King Fish for P280 per kilo. I planned to cook a steamed king fish.

Good thing, I found this helpful blog:
http://www.mymomfriday.com/2009/11/steamed-king-fish-in-light-soy.html

King fish is just a family of Tilapia it is the slimiest fish I've ever cleaned. Though, the market vendor already removed the intestines, gills and scales still I need to re-clean it.

I place ginger strips inside the fish, slice both sides and let it steam or 20-25 minutes. And then for the sauce I mixed ginger, onion leaves, water, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar and cajun spice (I just found this at our rack ^-^ )

As per the blog, there's this Cantonese method pour a hot oil over the steamed fish. Oh well, thats what I understand. So I heated oil on the pan and then pour it over the steamed fish.

Here's the sauce:

I also steamed brocolli for much healthier effect.
There it goes ...

I was not able to take a pic of the finish product.
But you can already imagine, I just transferred the sauce.

Achi and John said that it's good or maybe they are just being kind. :)

pyro @ mongolian

We went to MOA to watch the annual World's Pyrolympics and dine at Mongolian rice bowls. They offer a pyro buffet worth P700 (inside) and veranda (P750). It consists of the mongolian bowls and continental foods. We chose the P700 since colder and quieter inside, will just go out once the fireworks started.

This is how to make the sauce

The continental food

And of course, the desserts

Had a Valentines merienda with my officemates @ Burger Project (Teacher's Village, Maginhawa street). While waiting for our orders.

I was not able to take a picture of my burger order form.

I ordered Angus beef (125) on a oatmeal bun (15) with Mozarella cheese (35) , bacon (25), mango salsa (20), tomato and lettuce (for free). This cost me P220. Good thing I havent had breakfast and lunch yet so I was able to eat the whole burger.

We always had fastfood delivery for the past weeks and I'm so not happy with it. So last Friday, I craved for Filipino dishes and so we went to C2 at Megamall.

John said this Lao'ya is their specialty. I'm not satisfied. The soup is very very salty.

I'm so craving for Laing, but I wanted the Laing from Mesa much better

I'm not a fan of Crispy tawilis, but it's quite good when I ate the leftover takeout

Ordered the aligue rice
